Sugar Daddies

SugarDaddies are three veteran multi-instrumentalists who have developed a unique brand of Blues and Soul. Drawing on the great tradition from New Orleans to Chicago and beyond, their songs convey feeling, great grooves and humour, all built on fresh arrangements and their love of playing live.

The band features Steve Roberts guitar and harmonica, Adrian Litvinoff bass and keyboard, and Rich Westwood drums. Their sound has evolved through years of playing together, with a shared understanding and intention that only comes with long experience. Steve and Adrian both write for the band, and their tunes are infused with their experience of lives well lived and a deep affection for the R & B tradition in its totality, from jazz to rock ‘n’ roll.

Adrian swings on double bass as well as electric, after a lifetime immersed in the creativity of such greats as Charlie Mingus, Jack Bruce and Willie Dixon. He has a story to tell on keyboard too. Steve is a thoughtful guitarist tailoring his sounds and styles to make the most of each song. He also wails on harmonica. Rich is a fine rock-solid drummer who brings an unusual musicality as well as a great voice, sharing the lead vocals with Steve and Adrian. A SugarDaddies gig has musical richness and variety - and some surprises too!
